How to save Amphibians
You Can Make a Difference
We may have already lost the axolotl, but there is still time to save other amphibians. Don't let what happened to the axolotl happen to others.

Clean Water
By volunteering to help clean waterways, you can prevent the extinction of other amphibians suffering because of water pollution. And you don't have to go far to help make a difference. You can do this at a lake, pond, wetland or any other amphibian habitat near you!
Eat Organic Food
By reducing pesticide and fertilizer use you directly help in reducing the amount of chemical contamination that affects many amphibian species.

Make a Donation
Donate to organizations such as amphibian ark, who are dedicated to ensuring the survival of amphibian species
Avoid releasing Environmental Estrogens into the water
Estrogens in the form of chemicals, or foods and plants, mimic the action of estrogen produced in cells and can alter hormonal activity. Examples include: plastic, pesticides, cosmetics, and caffeine

Support Ecotourism and Local Farmers
Promote local businesses like La Casita del Axolotl who breed axolotls for sale and conduct tours with their guests and clients. The local community is essential for the axolotl conservation efforts. They handle the difficult method of collecting axolotls, a skill passed down through generations of local fishermen.
