Re-introduction
Is it possible?
Many conservation groups have debated on whether or not the re-introduction of lab breed axolotl's would be a good idea for the axolotl and the ecosystem.

Some argue that arc populations (populations breed in captivity when there are no more in the wild) are the best bet for axolotl survival.
Others argue that since axolotls have 3 main factors that contribute to their wellbeing (water quality, temperature, and an abundance of insects and worms), then it would be ideal to find conditions similar to that of Lake Xochimilco and release a colony of captive bred axolotls.
Some say this will not work because lab raised axolotls do not have the ability to survive in an environment with predators. This debate is still on-going. What do you believe?
